Marine Engineer

Must have a valid license for Chief Engineer of Motor Vessels not less than 3000 H.P issued by the United States Coast Guard Inspection Service.

This license must be maintained for the duration of employment. Minimum of 5 years, full time, paid experience acquired in the last 15 years as a Marine Engineer. Selected candidate must have established residency within 90 days of start date. Under general direction, the Chief Marine Engineer will supervise and direct the operation of the main propulsion equipment and auxiliaries of a diesel powered vessel as well as supervise and direct all members of the engine crew; supervise and direct the operation, maintenance and minor or emergency repair of the main propulsion equipment, auxiliaries, electrical equipment, steering engines, pumps and fuel tanks on diesel powered vessels. The right candidate will also perform all duties of inspection officer below decks; supervise and direct the care, storage and use of fuel on board ship; observe all federal and departmental regulations pertaining to operation of engine equipment of the diesel powered vessel.
